Day #3 - There's More To Life Then Just Biking.

Started off the morning at 5:00 A.M. We were on the road at 6:00. Last night we met another biker, headed for Oregon. He was pretty cool because he had the same bike as Mr. G. Mike, the other biker, was still asleep when we left in the morning. We knocked out the first 30 miles before breakfast. The hills keep getting longer and steeper everyday, but that didn't stop us. By noon we were in Charlottesville, the largest city we've biked through so far. We stayed there 2 hours and bought an extra tube for my bike, a smaller and lighter sleeping bag for Mr. G and he also mailed 9 pounds of unneeded gear back home. We ate lunch at Chipolte' then headed to our camp grounds. We did a total of 71 miles. Today the temperature was close to 100........yes, we were sweating a lot. Tonight was the first time we've had to pay for camp, but it's also the first time we've been swimming. When we got to camp and checked in the first thing we did was hop in the pool and throw a frisbee back and forth. It was refreshing. After that we played horseshoes, washed our clothes and showered.. We are about to play a game of pool and then go to bed. I hope I win because Mr. G. beat me at horseshoes.

Tomorrow's plans are to bike up the Allegheny Mountains to the Blue Ridge Pkwy. Our goal is 80 miles to a city called Buchanan. That's all folks!
